Before explaining How to speak in Fortnite for Nintendo Switch, I need to tell you about some preliminary information. First of all, you should know that to play this famous video game on the Nintendo console, you must have a subscription to Nintendo Switch online: a service with prices from € 3.99 per month, which guarantees the possibility of playing online in compatible video games.
In addition, to play Fortnite you must have previously created an Epic Games account and connected the latter, during registration or later, through the settings menu, your account, to the Nintendo console. To perform this step, it is clearly necessary to have also created a Nintendo Account.
In addition, the creation of a Nintendo Account is a prerequisite to be able to access the Nintendo eShop: on Nintendo Switch, in fact, the Epic Games video game can be downloaded for free, by pressing the Free Download button, through the company's virtual store Japanese.
Clearly, to perform this operation, it is also necessary to have connected the console to the Internet, through the menu System Settings> Internet Settings.
Also, if you are having trouble installing Fortnite on your Nintendo, I recommend that you check the free memory space by going to the System Settings> Data Management> Software menu.
In this regard, given the limited storage space of 32 GB, you might consider buying a micro SD card, like the ones I recommended in my dedicated shopping guide.
Finally, let you know that, in order to talk about Fortnite half Nintendo Switch, you have to connect a headset with a microphone to the audio jack on the top of the console, since the latter does not have a built-in microphone.

How to speak on Fortnite Nintendo Switch
Now that I have explained what all the necessary requirements are to be able to play Fortnite on Nintendo Switch, the time has come to move on to the practical part of this tutorial. To get started, turn on the console and press the same button three consecutive times to access its main menu.
Now if you have already downloaded Fortnite from Nintendo eShop, following the instructions I have given you in the previous chapter, start the game by pressing its icon located in the main menu.
With that done, in order to speak Fortnite, you must first adjust the voice chat settings to activate it. To do this, access the game menu, then press the (+) button on the console, to open the menu. Now, in the displayed box, select the settings item and confirm your choice by pressing the A button.
At this point, go to the audio menu ( the speaker symbol ) and make sure the wording for the Voice Chat input is set to itself.
Also, in correspondence with the wording Voice Chat Method, choose whether you want to select the Open Mic or Press and Talk option. In the latter case, choosing to enable Push to Talk, go to the controller menu ( the controller icon ), to configure the key that will be used to speak.
Then, on this screen, select the custom settings and go to the Change Commands menu. Then assign a password to the command named PTT, which will be shown in the actions panel.
Once this is done, you just have to start the game, through the game menu, to be able to communicate vocally with your teammates in Fortnite, using the headphones with a microphone previously connected to the Nintendo console.
